it's a good day

My pick up truck which is a 2000 has to go to the emissions test lanes every couple of years for the clean air act. Every single time that stupid check engine light comes on right before it's due. Last time it was a $600 job. This time I was putting it off, but now the state of Illinois will not let you renew your plates unless it's past. I went it did not pass. I called my friendly neighborhood mechanic he told me the codes were for a faulty gas cap. YAY! Bought the cap for 20 bucks & tomorrow I am headed to the test lanes.

After work I got a haircut at great clips for 5 bucks! Then I found 2 dollars in the Halloween candy aisle! I better get the the gas station time to play the lottery!!!

we had emissions in Ohio but it went under a few years ago thank God. If a car did not show that it was in reverse or drive on the console, they would not pass it. XO

Do like John does, he just puts a piece of tape over the check engine light. Drives me crazy. Good luck on the lottery and remember I'm your friend. lol

Knock on wood, I've never had issues passing an emissions test in Illinois. And I've driven some cars that I thought would certainly fail.

I was watching the Huskies last night and couldn't help thinking that they could have used some of your luck!

I used to have a jeep that always had the check engine light on right before inspection. I used to think it knew what was coming and didn't want to go through it, lol.

I hope your luck continued to hold! lol Glad you didn't have to be out very much money for that. We don't have to do the VET testing anymore in Indiana, and I'm so glad. Hopefully they won't bring it back.
