mrs h filled weekend...

Mrs H's live in help took a couple of days off. Her replacement...well let's just say this woman must not work with many stubborn, old, "I still have my brain" & I pay you people" types... she would not stop threatening to leave...and she's from an agency.

Rose to the rescue, because I was always taught to respect my elders and my boss I offered to check in on Mrs H and her live in twice today. These on top of my regular hours. I am going back this evening to make sure her pillows are just the right height and all her pads are in place...

Someday I'll be old...and I believe in Karma...

I don't even know how to say how great I think you are Rose. Wish there were more caring people out there for the elderly.

I get it, but you and I have discussed how much we both get it before :-) so no need to rehash.
It does make me laugh about all the times people have told me they don't "enable" their parents like I did mine though.
I am glad I did it, even without the Karma.

I don't get the reasoning behind someone being cruel just because they can. I'm glad you were there for Mrs. H. Karma does and will bite you on the ass. It usually does when you least expect it. (Hugs)Indigo

There are some people in that line of work that view their job, as just that, a job. It's much easier to do that job when your person is comfortable and happy. You resist them, they will resist you.

I'm glad your there for Mrs. H. It does come back around with a vengeance too. I was always taught to treat elderly people and those with authority over me with respect and good manners. Working at a hospital with the elderly and in nursing homes for many, many years, I worked with those 'types' you just mentioned. You give them whatever they want and anticipate their requests and spoil them rotten if they'll let you. I think I always tried to be good and kind and listen. Bringing comfort costs no extra.

Yes it's sad to say that there are some who do not have respect for others these days. That is awesome you are going back to check on her and fluff her pillows.
