2020

This year has been rough for everyone.  I thought I was going to excape with no illness.  I still drive the school bus but my hours are cut and so is my pay.  Thankfully my husband's job is fine.  He got a knee replacement this year.  All good with that.  Both my sons are happily married.  My stepsons are doing well the oldest got married last year.  Both my daughter's kids have autism.  Her daughter just today got diagnosed with juvenile diabetes.  She is in the hospital right now they are trying to get her blood sugars down.  I am bummed and angry as if her disability wasn't enough.  Life sucks sometimes

Vacation has been so relaxing.  Been a rough couple of years.  Mark has been dealing with a work related knee injury for 2 years.  2 years and 2 surgeries later he's doing excellent.

We have 10 grandkids now.  They are my heart and soul.  Jim our 2nd son got married this past May.   Carrie is a sweetheart.

I am still driving a school bus it will be my 15 year.  I feel pretty blessed love my job and it's fun.

Good evening from gorgeous Florida!  I turned 60 this month and realized my memory is lacking.  I feel like forget so much at each passing month. I am going to commit to journaling again!

We go to Florida to see my dad and step mom at least twice a year.  We are here now weather is great and we are enjoying the peace and quiet.

This year has been very stressful.  My husband Mark had a 2nd knee surgery.  Work related first surgery wasn't done right.  So much is going on right now I am feeling it.  Big family many concerns.   But that is life so I live it.

Update!!!  Seeing people post here and there has pushed me to start up.  So much has changed but so much is the same.  We have a total of 10 grand kids.  I still drive a school bus.  Still adore my family and my awesome husband.  I am starting a major fitness program.  Hopefully blogging will keep me accountable.  

It's been forever !!!  Busy with work and of course the family.   Just a quick update I am doing great and enjoying the summer before it gets away !

Journal I've missed you !  I have been trying to keep my attitude positive this winter has been never-ending  here.  

Last weekend we took Lilly to a hotel to swim,  We had a great time and she slept like a baby.

Hey all!  Popping in to say I am still alive and well!   Baby Emily was born in September and I am still Mother Goose to my 8 grand kids, sub bus driver to our school district and hubby and I have an awesome vacation coming up to Southern California over Christmas break.  I will do better to update!   Miss my journal!

Spending my time working a couple of days a week...driving the Y kids to a water park sitting in the pool and getting tan....if you call that work! 

Family fun and cleaning closets round out my days.  Hubby's been work way too many hours 6 days a week, but we are keeping are eye on the prize....vacation coming up Thursday!

the weekend

Father's day weekend!   Family fun where most of the kids come home to eat, watch the town's Prairiefest parade and hang out.  The parade goes by our house and over the years gathered a group of friends that we get to hang out and catch up with.

Prairiefest kicks off the summer with bands, carnival rides and a variety of activities,

Liz and I walked to the main area last night saw a few friends and spent some time together.   She is feeling her baby girl kick now...so exciting!

I've been taking 2 trips a week, the YMCA group to the pool...nice chance to earn some cash and relax because of course I go in and cool off or people watch.

My birthday was perfect ....quiet....much needed.   This past school year was nuts...I worked way too many hours, and deat with way too much drama.  As a sub and trip driver I had a great time, but my coworkers and new bosses made my daily life a big pain.  I spent too much time being angry and annoyed.

I am going to do only 2 field trips with the Y per week this summer and try and stay away.  The new admin have great ideas but they haven't thought through some of them so the end results aren't working.   oh well I'm trying to just be a driver which I LOVE (a supervisor office job is open but no thanks) saves my sanity.

We are working on our house this summer, but most of the job is left to me as my hubby works long hours trucking.  

Our kids still are going through changes just as we all did growing up mostly job and housing.  They'll figure it out, but I wish the other parents would stay out of it sometimes we learn better on our own ;)

It's my birthday !   It's raining, I did not bid on any summer work for today so I am holed up in my bedroom watching daytime tv, drinking my fav pumpkin spice coffee. 

I am going relax and enjoy doing NOTHING today!

Summer break....

Yesterday I took Lilly to the Park district farm, called Blackberry Farm.   Turned out to be free day so we went early to beat the crowds.  She is 2 so she was easy to distract making it easy go from activity to the next.   She probably would just been happy to climb on the rock enclosures  around the flowers.  We were able to see the animals including getting licked by a goat, ride the carousel, ride the train and talk to Robbie the horse who was eating lunch.  They also have big play area area we climbed on that.  We left at 11 just as the masses arrived and enjoyed lunch before returning home to a well deserved nap.  

SCHOOL'S OUT!

School 's out !   Thank you Jesus !   This past at least two months have been trying at best.  With new admin, unprofessional coworkers, new procedures that make no sense, and the normal student management I've done all I can to not blow.

I simply focused on the kids and reminded myself exactly why I love my job....and those little sweeties rewarded me with hugs and thank you bus driver.   I also spent some time in the office helping sub dispatch and really confirmed to myself that I DO love driving that big yellow school bus.

My plans for summer are for field trips and hanging out at home enjoying the home front...the perfect fix for my frazzled brain.

I can finally tell!  My daughther Liz is having a GIRL! So number 8 is a GIRL!

Hey friends !   School's almost out so I am going to make a serious effort to post.  I rarely use my computer (it's old and slow), this pad won't let me post pics but my phone will so I'll try and figure out how to add them later.  My family is growing as we speak with baby Kyle being born March 29 and my daughter due in September.  I know what she's having but been sworn to keep mum until Sunday at their reveal party.   

With such a big group and outside influences my hub and I have been taking a step back and watch and see how our clan grows and changes.  They all are doing well, but are still making choices we find unwise....but so did we....with God's helpl I am sure the will figure life out.  

We are making a huge effort to enjoy our own life and do things we enjoy.   We walked the Walk for Autism last week. We really enjoyed it too.  This weekend we are working on are our house something neglected because both work long hours .

I do love my grandma Roses time....Lilly daily asks to go to Grandma Roses house, she even gives her parent's turn by turn directions, Kaleb lights up when he sees a semi or bus sure that we are behind the wheel.  He's baby brother will get to know me during times when his mommy goes to sports class with Kaleb.  Baby Tommy grins when he sees us....my 3 guys Jake, Cody and Dayton are done with school and are looking forward to our day trips this summer....

Trying to find balance is tough as my job is going through new admin and really trying my patience, thankfully summer break will give me a break to regroup.   

I love this  journal in that I can go back and see how life really does come back into line after change.  Like you friends I always know where I can find some peace.

Love guys bunches and I promises to update more of course let you know whether I get a he or a she grandbaby.

A post finally.   I am doing it on my phone so it's kinda hard.  We have been great. ...waiting for spring and spending time with these darlings.  I am driving the big yellow bus still. 

Mark and I are planning a trip to Florid a in July...very ready for a  break.

One more  baby boy due in April.  AND my just married in October daughter found out she is pregnant!  We go to the doctor tomorrow....I am used to my bunch and love every bit of t

hem....Maybe we'll get another girl !????

My Christmas was wonderful.   I am super blessed with gran kids !   My children are all doing great.   Here's to an awesome 2013 !

fall back

Good morning!

Here in Illinois we fell back, I'm enjoying my extra hour by relaxing in my bed.  My husband has to work today so he's already off.  He has a load of some sort that he is taking to Ohio.  The grand sons are here they are downstairs doing homework.

The weather is chilly, but clear so I'll end up walking the kiddo's to the park.  Sometimes I need the walk and fresh air more than they do.

I am here!

My gorgeous grand kids!  They are getting so big and multiplying by the half year!  The momma of the little guy 2nd from the right is going to have another baby next April.  Bets on it's a boy as my husband's side only makes boys :)  His ex even took a picture of my Lilly with the rest of the boys, maybe to claim at least one girl.

My girl Liz is getting married October 6, she's the baby of the 8 and I am trusting her judgement as she is only 23. 

This school year has been nuts...very busy with our large district.  We are short drivers, which is odd to me, I love my job.  I am a sub again and love the variety.  This morning I saw my old kindergarten route from way back they are now in 7th grade...I told them I was sad, they are old now!  They laughed, brings me great joy to see those smiles.
